I saw that for two days in a row, The Bee has had the Ray Rice story on the front page. It seems attention is drawn to the fact the NFL knew about what happened, leveled a mild punishment against Rice, then increased the suspension once the public saw the video. Now there’s demand for Commissioner Roger Goodell to step down because an athlete beat his girlfriend.
Wind your clocks back to fall 2012, and to a different Rice. Susan Rice, who claimed on behalf of the White House that our ambassador to Libya was killed because of some YouTube video. That turned out to be a lie. The video that mattered was the live video President Barack Obama was watching as the ambassador’s compound in Benghazi was raided and did nothing to save him and the men protecting him. This is a real scandal, and yet how much real information have you placed on the front page? Where are the demands for Obama’s resignation over standing by and letting terrorists kill our citizens? If you and similar media sources had given this much coverage to Benghazi’s serious video story as you have to the NFL’s domestic abuse story, Mitt Romney would be president.
