At 6:35 a.m. July 7, I approached the busy intersection of Briggsmore and Lakewood avenues.
My light was red and across the lanes, I noticed a gentleman wearing a red shirt, kneeling down on the dirt canal embankment trying to coax a very tiny and very scared dog away from the morning traffic that was zipping past both of them.
My light turned green and as I passed, he was successful in his rescue. With tears in my eyes, I thanked God for people like him in this world.
