Regarding “Second phase of restoration at Modesto’s Gallo Center underway” (Page A1, June 27): I was at the Gallo Center last week to see The Piano Guys and was saddened by how much damage a water pipe could do to the beautiful center. What’s even more sad is that it could have been avoided if the center had a security guard on the premises daily, and not just when it opened. If a security guard had been there the Sunday the pipe broke, all of this could have been avoided. A lady in the ticket office said damage was at a $1 million. A security guard’s salary is much less than that, don’t you think?
