To all who participated in the 2012 election, from an 87-year-old veteran: The voice of reason and restraint won out and took the nation to a new beginning.
It will be a hard and difficult task to get most of the losing side to realize and accept the improvements and prosperity that are possible when calm reason and thoughtfulness are sitting together making decisions to benefit the people of this nation.
The losers of that time will never forgive the winning side for their victory. They worked hard to destroy all the safety and progressive legislation that brought us to the prosperity we enjoyed for 70 years. With the repeal (1999) of the 1933 Glass-Steagall Act (banking laws separating commercial and investment banks), they succeeded and destroyed the last vestiges of prosperity this nation had known.
Let's hope that reason will bring us back to a proud and successful nation again.
