How long will it take for people to start caring about anything? A subject close to my heart which brought this problem to the forefront is reading the Oct. 4 story about "Bones," the dog dying of starvation. I just came back from a walk, observing a house where no one obviously lives anymore and three cats sitting on the porch. I have seen them the last few days. They have been left behind. They are not wild, just wondering where their family went. And, yes, people like me will feed them, so it will be my sad burden. If you don't want animals, don't bring them home. Have some compassion. I swear if this country doesn't start caring about something other than what can I do for me! Teach your children!
