I read with interest "No watering the lawn for today" (Sept. 24, Letters). I find it hard to believe the city is paying people to wander around the city and catch people watering their lawns on the wrong day.
The city is laying off police while the governor is letting criminals out of jail, but we have funds to pay for lawn-watering enforcement.
Two years ago my home was burglarized and the police closed the case without investigating. I went downtown and talked to a detective and told him who the thief was and how I knew. However he would not reopen the case because they did not have enough detectives to handle the cases.
It seems obvious the leaders have their priorities screwed up.
