Letters to the Editor

Let's just move to North Korea, then

What a weak argument The Bee made for opposing Proposition 4 ("Can't mandate family talks," Oct. 9, Page A-10). That's the best reason to not notify parents that their daughter is having an abortion?

If my child has surgery, I have to give permission and sign for it. If my child goes on a school field trip to Starbucks, I have to give permission and sign for it. If my child gets good or bad grades, I have to sign the report card. But if my child gets an abortion, I don't even get to know about it?

I should be asked to give permission before this major surgery on my child, but you're saying I shouldn't have the right to know she's having it? It sounds to me like you're in favor of turning the raising of our children over to the state. That's a great idea -- in North Korea.
