Bikers protecting their lives

I was riding my motorcycle on McHenry Avenue and was rear-ended by a teenage girl. I was very fortunate that she was not going very fast. She smashed my fender into my tire, but I managed to stay on my bike.

I have come to the conclusion that lane splitting at red lights and purchasing very loud pipes is my only option. The reason for my change in attitude is that the girl was texting or talking on her phone; there is no other explanation.

If a biker splits lanes while you are out there in your car, please understand it's legal and, second, he or she is trying to preserve his or her own life!
