Turlock council lacking in compassion

I am saddened at the Turlock City Council's response to the homeless situation, saying they aren't in the homeless business. Well, wake up, City Council members. Nobody wakes up one morning and decides to be homeless.

Most people are a couple of paychecks away from being homeless. Rents go up, prices rise, and wages don't. Layoffs occur. Companies shut down or downsize. People become sick and have no insurance to cover the costs.

I see the signs around town of people who are running for City Council. They need to get their views out in regard to the homeless situation. I am very disappointed in the current council members on how they have failed the people who elected them. They have to be for all the people in this city, not just a chosen few.
