In regard to the letter "Trustees must make sacrifices" (April 28), incorrect information was submitted regarding benefits and stipend for members of the Riverbank Unified School District Board of Trustees. Since my election in November 2005, I have declined to accept the monthly stipend available as a member of the board. As an employee of RUSD, I am covered by the district health benefits. The financial figures that the letter presented are a gross miscalculation and untrue.
As anyone who has ever served on a school board realizes, the job is very demanding and requires extensive amounts of time and commitment. To imply that I serve to receive incredible health benefits and stipends is insulting and incorrect.
