I'm the chapter director of the Depressive and Bipolar Support Alliance of Stanislaus County. We provide free services for those living with mood disorders. Just having filled out my tax return to get my $300 economic stimulus, I was daydreaming of the toys I'd buy. But back to work trying to figure out what to do about losing the discount my organization has been receiving on our best educational materials. I glanced at my tax return and the answer was obvious. I knew I could have fun with $300, but I also knew I'd get a much greater personal return by using it for a better purpose.
This money, along with the rebates from my extended family, will go toward the educational material.
Parents make personal sacrifices every day, knowing it's not really a sacrifice because the payoff will ultimately be much greater. Hopefully, you'll just take a moment to think about how you'll use this money that so many of you worked so hard to earn.
