I'm tired of your speeches always bringing up your prisoner-of-war record. You joined the Navy and went to the Naval Academy. Got a rating of an officer and became a pilot on a U.S. carrier. You were unfortunate and got shot down. You were given a chance to come home when you were captured, but refused. I respect your service and I'm sorry you were treated so poorly by the enemy.
You said in your speech you did not like wars. That really got to me. Have you ever spent a night in a foxhole half full of water? Did you ever have your buddies shot and killed by an enemy you couldn't see? Did you ever go days hungry and sick with malaria with just the first-aid man there to provide care?
You had a warm bed on your ship and good food to eat and you showered every night! No, John McCain, you don't know what war really is. You're using your captivity for political purpose. At least you came out alive; many other pilots were not so lucky.
