Regarding "Police, firefighters earn their pay" (March 20, Letters): Yes, police and firefighters earn their pay for constantly putting their lives on the line. Then I suggest that we change the pay scale allotted to our men and woman in the service. Are they not also in the same, or more, danger of losing their lives every day? Let's boost their pay from $24,000 per year to $85,000.
The problem we have as people, is we sometimes are afraid to say anything bad about our police and fire departments. If we do, they may not show up at our house when we need them.
