Elections define Americans as to who we are; politicians represent the unknown sector. Their true beliefs and political positions are constantly subject to change depending on what it takes to collect votes. Speeches given with the emotional flavor of a televangelist, often serving up platitudes and a menu of meaningless gibberish, stir people to a glossy-eyed fervor. In this season of political madness, "change" is the magic word. What it actually means is very elusive. "Change" is what one receives when 50 cents is offered to a two-bit prostitute. Our candidates in this election are using tactics and methods that are tried and true, and as old as the oldest profession. When the faithful vote, one can only hope they receive their two-bits' worth.
