Making it easier to teach the Three R's

Regarding Mark Hollingsworth's community column ("Girl's greeting demonstrates benefits of character education," Jan. 24, Page B-7): Kudos to the Gustine administrator, teachers and students for implementing such a fine character-building program. I believe that with the pride the students obtain in themselves from this program, that the Three R's secondarily learned will also be reflected positively in their lives. Here's hoping that other administrators and teachers in California and nationwide will hear of the importance of what you are trying to do.
