I think the headline "Halting economy's death spiral" in the Bee (Jan. 23, Page A-1) was totally wrong. This type
of headline is just what the article underneath it, "Government has hands full keeping recession worries from coming true," is warning will cause a recession.
Do you really think our economy is in a death spiral? In the article it says: "When people are panicking, it's hard to stop the stampede" and "Panic can make people and businesses change their behavior," "and in turn make things worse." I think headlines like this are exactly what they are talking about.
