Help make 'factory farms' humane

This is a call to action for all Californians to oppose the inhumane treatment of animals raised for human consumption on factory farms where they are so confined they cannot turn around or extend a limb and are denied all natural behaviors. They experience unimaginable suffering.

We as a caring nation have fallen short in providing basic protections and the humane treatment to farm animals that are treated as mere units of production on factory farms. Please support the Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act, an initiative that the Humane Society of the United States is trying to get on the November ballot. Please visit www.humanecalifornia.org as soon as possible since time is running out.

As humans, we have a responsibility to protect those that can't protect themselves. The animals need us. Also, I urge you to go to Google, click on images, search "factory farms" and see the suffering that factory farms keep meticulously concealed from consumers. Stanislaus County is one of seven counties with the highest number of factory farms in California. This measure would ban gestation crates, veal crates and battery cages. These are torture chambers used on farm animals in the name of big profits.
