The Jan. 4 article "Resolve to recycle more regularly in the coming year" (Page B-5) was a good reminder to everyone that we should do our part to help the environment. However, since this is such a good idea, why is the city of Modesto making it so difficult to do by not supplying customers with the blue bags necessary to do the job?
I can remember a few years back, when most stores offered blue plastic bags and encouraged customers to use them for recycling. Today, finding a store that offers them is as scarce as hen's teeth.
I have had to resort to asking my friends for blue bags. I even called Gilton Waste Management to see if they would accept white bags and was told the bags had to be blue.
