Suddenly have a Wii or a laptop?

While my husband and I were at our respective jobs on New Year's Eve, someone broke into my home and took property that belonged to my children. If you're a parent of a person who suddenly owns a Nintendo Wii or a laptop computer, perhaps you could ask them where it came from.

My 6-year-old is devastated. The Wii was the only thing Santa brought him this year. (And I certainly can't afford to replace it.)

My 3-year-old daughter is weeping for her computer. She has found great joy in playing educational games on it. Oh yeah, and four years' worth of family pictures saved on the laptop are now gone. Imagine my heartbreak.

So if your kid suddenly has a new toy, be a good parent; ask them where it came from.
