'Yellow journalism at its worst'

Let me first express to the entire family of Laci Peterson that I absolutely mean no disrespect to you in my letter of disgust with The Bee's recap of your tragedy (Dec. 23 and 24,

Page A-1.). Your family has suffered enough.

This five-year recap is yellow journalism at its worst. It's over. She's gone; he's convicted. My knowledge of the case is television and newspaper coverage. Do I think he did it? I'm 80 percent convinced. But the death penalty based on circumstantial evidence? No way.

This is a 5-year-old murder story. Let it be. Your next and final coverage should be if and when he is executed.

How many more murders have been happening during this period? Where was the coverage on these?
