Teachers have no right to teach own values

Regarding "Student says teacher put down Jesus" (Dec. 17, Page A-6): At a high-school level, teachers are not there to "force students to question their convictions and faith." Students are still legally under their parents' authority and the parents have a right to teach -- or not -- their children values and belief systems. Elementary and high school teachers do not have the right to assume that responsibility and teach their personal beliefs or values to underage students.
