Concerning the city of Turlock workers' increase in retirement: In his article ("Brown Act turned back around on itself in Turlock dispute," Dec. 6, Page B-7) Councilman Ted Howze claims that the staff was questioned and the pay increase would be 9 percent and also wrote about what they "understood." It seems to me they either didn't understand it at all or didn't read the contract. Why would they approve something they didn't fully understand? It seems to me like the council members who are now upset about this are the ones who dropped the ball. When all else fails, why not blame someone else for your mistakes?
