The weather has turned bitterly cold the past week, and I thought it was simply winter making an appearance. However, I now realize this cold snap has nothing to do with the changing of the seasons and more to do with hell freezing over. Hell must have frozen over because I finally agree with a column written by Cal Thomas. I have never agreed with any of the articles Cal Thomas has published in The Bee. Not a column, not a sentence -- heck, I even took issue with the way he spells his name. His column "Claims of faith don't guarantee good president" (Dec. 11, Page B-7) was something that all of us could or should support and, given the tenor of his past columns, was a bit of a surprise.
If Cal Thomas and I could agree on something, anything is possible -- even world peace.
