Thanks for spiffing up schools

Selflessness and altruism are attributes of exemplary institutions, and we are fortunate to have a fine example in the Modesto area. On Nov. 3, hundreds of volunteers from The Friends and Families for Schools Community Service Program of the LDS church descended on dozens of schools to trim bushes, paint curbs, hoe weeds and engage in campus beautification projects. These volunteers were joined by PTA members to improve playgrounds and landscaping so that students would enjoy a better learning environment. We appreciate these volunteers who donated their Saturday for the children of Modesto.
