Climate change is nothing new

The New York Times article "The greening of Greenland?" (Oct. 29, Page A-10) is likely old news to Greenlanders. Greenland has been slowly warming for the past 150 years. Soon they will be planting vineyards, as the Vikings did a thousand years ago -- hence the name Vinland -- without any influence of carbon emissions on the weather.

Climate change is cyclical, and the activities of man are negligible. "Going green" makes sense only in terms of reducing our dependence on foreign oil.
