Hamilton for TUSD: A 'passion to serve'

Eileen Hamilton would be a valuable member of the Turlock Unified School District. She has prepared for this role in a variety of capacities throughout her nearly 40 years in Turlock. She has served as a parent volunteer, classroom aide and high school teacher.

Eileen has an abiding and demonstrated passion to serve the young people of our community. Currently, she is a board member of the Turlock Family Network and Creative Alternatives, organizations which focus on improving the lives of children.

Additionally, Eileen volunteers in many ways, from teaching teen mothers to working as a leader in a grief-counseling class. She also donates time to cancer centers in Modesto and Turlock, to library and concert groups, and to several other worthwhile organizations.

Of prime concern to Eileen is the quality of the education Turlock's students receive. She has studied the issues and challenges in the increasingly complex world our students and educators face. She has visited all our principals to discuss their perspectives on topics from plant upgrades to safety, curriculum and budgets. Eileen also is walking our neighborhoods to talk to residents.

Eileen will bring a fresh perspective and meaningful insight to Turlock education.
