Election 2007: Board members should stay neutral

Mike Welsh's letter (Oct. 11) reflected his personal opinion and does not reflect the opinions of the Ceres Unified school board.

The board has never discussed endorsing candidates during closed or public sessions and should not. Board members should remain neutral during elections and abstain from becoming involved in endorsing candidates at least in their respective districts.

I'm very confident that all six candidates are very dedicated individuals who want to see that the needs of all children in the Ceres district are met. We, the school board, school district and the Ceres Unified Teachers Association, need to work on nurturing relationships, not severing them.

TERESA GUERRERO
