Prosecute real criminals, not this guy

I am appalled at the pettiness of the district attorney's office bringing a former Stanislaus County code enforcement officer to trial for impersonating a public officer when he was a public officer at the time ("New trial over a video game?" Oct. 8, Page B-1). The officer would have had to have ESP to know the video game was defective without opening it. Our tax dollars are being spent to prosecute a long-time, dedicated public servant who became upset that Target refused to refund his money. This could have been resolved with mediation and some disciplinary action and should be dismissed.

The DA needs to be zealous about prosecuting the many real and dangerous criminals in our county instead of tying up our criminal courts with a minor name-calling incident. Hope I'm not charged with impersonating a concerned citizen!
