I have often wondered why the "far right," which claims strict allegiance to Christianity, would oppose universal health care. Is it their belief that Jesus would oppose health care for the less fortunate, or does it reflect the values of those who have been blessed with surplus monies? We hear in our churches the sins of abortion and sexuality issues, yet the same institutions are quiet when it involves health care. It is time that we return to a more rational way of thinking rather than serving selfish interests. Honestly ask yourself: What would Jesus say regarding care for the poor? The answer is written throughout the Bible.
