Child acts up, teachers get the blame

Well, now, I see, after reading The Bee ("Second chances," Sept. 24, Page A-1), the teachers in Modesto have failed again as parents. The students now command the teachers' respect. It's now OK to be offensive, curse and disobey. Wonder where they get this attitude? Do you think it was their parents? No, it must have been the teachers, or someone who once had authority. I don't pretend to have the answers; however, somewhere along the line, parents and students must be held accountable for their actions.
