Customer disservice is spreading

Whatever happened to common courtesy and customer service? I was at the bank and was asked to wait for the next available officer. About 20 minutes later, somebody finally came to help me. After we were done, I asked to use the restroom and was told I could "use the one across the street."

The next day, I was on the phone and was asked to hold. A few minutes later, somebody told me it would just be a few minutes. And a few minutes after that, they told me again! Twenty minutes later, I was finally helped.

Whatever happened to "the customer is always right"? Personally, I hope to make certain my business goes where the employees value customer service.
