Letters to the Editor

Drawing is the wrong kind of jay

There are many reasons that birds are becoming scarce here in the valley ("Feathered friends are absent," Sept. 15, Letters). Some of the reasons may be global warming, habitat loss, insecticides, West Nile and other diseases, etc. While I am not qualified to go into detail about these reasons, I am qualified to say that here in the valley, blue jays do not exist. We have scrub jays in the valley. The Bee had a picture of a blue jay beside the letter.

Keep feeding those creatures of the sky. They need all the help we can give them!
