It's a wonderful thing for a community to have a river run through it. But what have the Modesto and Turlock irrigation districts allowed to happen to the Tuolumne River? The canals are running at full capacity, but our river is a green, slimy mess. In the 70 years I've lived here, I've never seen the Tuolumne in such a horrible condition.
Where's the recreational use of the river? How can any fish survive in it? And what about the farmers with riparian rights who depend in the river for irrigation?
MID and TID, please do what you can to increase the river flow so we can all benefit.
