Help, don't hinder, club dancing

Regarding "Police propose a cutoff of clubs" (Sept. 2, Page A-1): With all due respect, the Modesto Police Department should be catering to downtown businesses and their security needs instead of dictating who gets to offer dancing. It almost sounds comical. What is the Modesto PD going to do when there is a rock concert at the Gallo arts center on a Saturday night?

I would also like to request all of the nightclub owners to offer a little monetary compassion to John Whitehead, owner of Central Stamp and Coin, so he can get some nice roll-down doors for the front of his business.
