Deputy nearly creamed by train

This is to the Stanislaus County deputy sheriff who went around the crossing arms at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail line Aug. 30 about midnight in Empire: How did it feel to be that close to being hit by a freight train traveling 60 mph? That was the closest I have ever seen a car get to being destroyed by a train! Imagine how the person driving the train would have felt had you not been as lucky as you were. The best part was seeing you pull into the parking lot at McDonald's. Is that why you were in such a hurry? I hope when you pull over the next 50 or so people for some traffic violation, you pass on some of the grace that was extended to you that night and let them off with a warning.
