I am responding to the letter, “No revivals on public campuses” (Aug. 24, Letters) in regard to the Harvest Crusade last weekend in Turlock. I did not attend the event. However, I am aware that by allowing different concerts, events and weddings to take place on the beautiful California State University, Stanislaus campus, not only is the university making money but the community at large gets to enjoy the public facilities. The writer of that letter seems to have overlooked this fact. There are many events all year long at the university that celebrate our cultural diversity, enrich our lives, educate us or just provide an enjoyable evening of music and fireworks.
So, what is the writer really objecting to? I am so glad I live in a country where people are allowed to express their opinions freely!
