As I was stopped at a stoplight on Tully Road, in front of Davis High School, I noticed how faded and undistinguished the crosswalks were. I wondered how many more crosswalks were like this. All of these intersections will soon be bustling with our kids as school begins. These crosswalks should be repainted annually prior to every school year and maintained as necessary.
The law requires they be well marked. To say there is not any money in the budget is misleading. There is a budget for such things, paid for by our taxes. This is the kind of thing where money should be spent first, rather than elsewhere. It is a safety issue. Children have been hit by vehicles too often, and still no emphasis on keeping the crosswalks as visible as possible. Come on, officials in charge! You can do much better!
