Jeff Grover's comments about the dangers of leaving planning "up to the ballot box" did nothing to diminish the impression that local (and not so local) elected officials are frequently out of sync with the will of the populace.
I hesitate to point out that as long as county supervisors are subject to election, they don't really have "complete control." Maybe Grover could pass a county ordinance ensuring his continuing endeavors as a county supervisor instead of "leaving it up to the ballot box."
