Bowen protects integrity of the vote

I think The Bee has taken a wrong turn in trying to place blame for a potentially faulty voting system on the shoulders of Debra Bowen. What she is trying to do is what the people of California elected her to do: protect the integrity of the citizens' right to vote. Bigger and technologically more complicated doesn't necessarily mean better. The paperless vote is not worth — well, the paper it is written on. If the other counties have put their horse before the cart for the sake of technology, then they now have the obligation to correct it. I thank Debra Bowen for having the backbone and conviction to hold herself accountable to the public and to do just what she said she would do. Other elected officials should take note.
