Where was fiscal caution before?

A small group of radical Republicans is trying to tie up both Congress and the California Legislature. After eight years of misrule without constraints on spending, foreign policy, war and fiddling with the Constitution, they are now posing as righteous "fiscal conservatives." The American people spoke during the last elections and made them the minority party. State Sen. Dave Cogdill may be one of the last to hear the news, but that will not stop him from trying to hamper others ("Who works for the greater good? Not Senate Democrats," Aug. 7, Page B-7). If not part of the solution, then part of the problem.
