Board votes for nonsensical plan

The county supervisors' decision to go ahead with Salida Now instead of putting it to vote in November provides another example of why cynicism is growing among constituents toward their representatives. In a county with the fourth-highest number of foreclosed homes in the nation, Jeff Grover and his cronies believe we need to build more homes and shopping centers.

This plan makes absolutely no sense. Salida Now sets aside 3,000 acres for development, yet only around 300 for agricultural purposes. Our farmers and our way of life are quickly being swept under the rug for corporate greed. Open your eyes, valley residents, and see that our heritage and our way of life will drastically change forever if we only stand by and watch the machine run.
