Somebody needs to vote for budget

Dave Cogdill, Jeff Denham and the rest of the "Gang of 14" are holding up the state budget for one reason — they don't want the California Environmental Quality Act getting in the way of the plans of some of their constituents who profit outrageously from unrestricted development. So what about the rest of the people you work for, senators?

In Merced County, all we have to show for your efforts are an abominable foreclosure rate and an interesting but ultimately useless catfight over the Riverside Motorsports Park. What we really need is for one, or both, of you fine upstanding public servants to vote "yes" on the current budget proposal and let the state of California get back to work.
