'Music Man' dances take much practice

As a cast member of Modesto Performing Arts' "The Music Man," I appreciated Lisa Millegan's glowing review ("No con here — MPA show full of talent," July 18, Page H-1). However, as a member of the dancing chorus, I am disappointed that the only thing Millegan found to say about the dancing was a slight comment on the "easy to moderate" level of difficulty. However simple it may have appeared, my fellow dancers and I rehearsed hours upon hours in order to master the stamina, energy and precision required for such numbers. I believe our hard work and the entertainment value of the dances should have been recognized, instead of belittled as "tapping toes in time."
