Measure S, on the November ballot, renews the 1/8th cent sales tax that is the primary funding source for the 13 branches of the Stanislaus County Library system, providing 89 percent of the libraries’ operating budget. Without Measure S, libraries will close. Today, libraries are as relevant and necessary as ever. Our libraries are in constant use by children, teens, adults and seniors who visit both the physical buildings and virtually online. They access not only books, but e-books, reference books, DVDs, job services, passports, hands-on field trips for school children as well as many other services. Help secure the future of our libraries by voting YES on Measure S.
