Will Modesto see more rain? Here’s how much the area got — and what’s in the forecast

Gray skies and rain showers brought a feeling of fall to Modesto over the weekend.

The Modesto Irrigation District measured 0.38 inches of rain at its downtown office on Saturday, bringing the season total to 0.64 inches.

The highest amount of rain measured on Nov. 18 was 0.95 inches, recorded in 1982.

On the same date this year, the district recorded the fourth-highest amount of precipitation in history.

Over the past 72 hours, Modesto received ).41 inches of rain, the National Weather Service said Monday.

Modesto weather forecast

Modesto won’t see more rain in the next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Instead, the agency predicted partly sunny skies, cool temperatures and light winds.

Here’s the forecast:

  • Tuesday: Patchy fog before 9 a.m. and a high near 64 with 6 mph winds. Mostly cloudy at night and a low around 43 with around 5 mph wind
  • Wednesday: Partly sunny and a high near 65 with wind 3 to 6 mph; low around 45.
  • Thursday: Sunny with a high near 65; low around 43.
  • Friday: Sunny with a high near 62; low around 41.
  • Saturday: Sunny with a high near 60; low around 39.
  • Sunday: Sunny with a high near 60.
