How to secure your home for about $100 in less than an hour
Two Sacramento men have been arrested after burglarizing a north Sacramento home in February, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies responded to reports of a burglary in the Antelope area on Feb. 25, according to a news release from the department.
Video surveillance footage obtained by police showed a suspect holding a gun to the head of the homeowner’s dog. The suspect left with multiple valuable items, the release said. The dog was not injured.
After an investigation, deputies identified two suspects: 41-year-old Anthony Mosqueda, who was taken into custody March 7 for unrelated charges, and 39-year-old Jose Smith, the release said.
As deputies prepared to serve a search warrant at a residence in the 800 block of Fulton Avenue, Smith left the residence in a vehicle, according to the release. After a short pursuit, Smith was detained near the 2700 block of Lerwick Road.
Deputies said they discovered a small child in the vehicle.
Smith was booked into custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail on suspicion of receiving stolen property, endangering the health or well being of a child, burglary, evading police and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to jail records. His bail is set at $1.1 million.
