From time to time I feel compelled to write a letter for candidates who have exceptional qualities. Today I am honored to support Rob Santos for the Turlock Irrigation District. Rob is a very hard worker who is energetic, caring, and very responsible in everything he does.
There are many questions to be answered at TID. What was behind the Patterson boondoggle where TID purchased the old broken-down Patterson PG&E power distribution system? It has cost TID millions to repair and millions more for yet another substation.
What about the bonus pay that management gets? I've been told that any money left over in the various department budgets is put in a pot and given as a bonus to the management team. Does this mean that management is more apt to cut back on necessary projects and services for a bigger bonus? Now I'm beginning to understand why requests for service take so long.
I know from my former law enforcement experience that we need someone like Rob on the board that can shed light on and help correct any possible improprieties that might be occurring at TID.
