10th Congressional District candidates converge on Modesto for ‘Debate at the State’
Six candidates running for the 10th Congressional District will be in Modesto on Wednesday for The Bee’s “Debate at the State” at the State Theatre.
The debate starts at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public on a first come, first served basis.
Challenging incumbent U.S. Rep. Josh Harder, a Democrat, are Republicans Ted Howze, Marla Sousa Livengood and Bob Elliott, and Democrats Mike Barkley and Ryan Blevins.
Moderating the event will be Bee Managing Editor Patty Guerra and Bee Opinions Editor Garth Stapley.
The California Primary is March 3. Absentee ballots should appear in the mail the first week of February.
The top two candidates in March, regardless of party affiliation, will face each other in the General Election in November.
Wednesday’s debate will be carried live on The Bee’s YouTube page.
The State Theatre is located at 1307 J St. in downtown Modesto.
