The Chamber of Commerce will co-host an Aug. 17 program on using local strengths to compete in global markets. About five weeks later, it will honor hometown leaders with the Best of Turlock awards.
The first event – Eggs, Issues and Economics – is a breakfast from 7 to 9:30 a.m. at the Turlock Golf & Country Club, 10532 Golf Link Road. It will feature Joe Raso and Bree Langemo, experts in economic and downtown revitalization at the Ohio-based Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative.
The chamber is putting on the event with the city of Turlock and the Stanislaus Business Alliance. The tickets – $40 for chamber members, $50 for non-members – must be ordered by Aug. 15. Call 209-632-2221 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Sponsorships also are available.
Monday is the deadline to nominate people for the annual Best of Turlock awards, to be presented Sept. 23 at the Assyrian American Civic Club, 2618 N. Golden State Blvd.
The awards include Citizen of the Year and people in business, education and other pursuits. The nomination form is at www.turlockchamber.com. More information is at 209-632-2221 or email@example.com.
