Man dressed as woman robs Manteca bank

Manteca police are looking for a man who dressed as a woman to rob the BBVA Compass bank Friday morning.

The man entered the bank at 201 N. Main St. about 10:20 a.m. wearing a wig, sunglasses and blue scrubs with a white long-sleeved shirt underneath, according to a news release from the department. He was carrying a black handbag with shoulder straps.

The man handed a teller a note indicating he was robbing the bank, then showed her a firearm that was concealed in his waistband.

The teller, fearing for her safety, gave the man an undisclosed amount of money. The man was last seen walking in the alley west of North Main Street.

The man was described as black, 25 to 35 years old, and about 6 foot 2 inches tall with a large build.
